The Association for Information and Research on Genetic Kidney Diseases (AIRG-Spain) will hold its 21st Annual Meeting on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the CaixaForum Auditorium in Madrid—a key event for patients, families, and healthcare professionals interested in genetic kidney diseases.

The day will begin at 9:00 AM with document collection, and the official opening will take place at 9:15 AM, led by Marta Roger Pla, President of AIRG-Spain, who will welcome all attendees.

The scientific program will feature leading specialists in nephrology and genetics from prominent hospitals across Spain. During the morning sessions, topics will include Alport syndrome, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, C3 glomerulopathy, mitochondrial kidney diseases, and complement-mediated kidney disorders, including the presentation of the ATLAS project.

After the coffee break, the program will continue with lectures on AFib amyloidosis, the role of the gut microbiota in kidney disease progression, and advances in estimating genetic risk for developing kidney disease, highlighting the importance of research and a comprehensive approach to these rare conditions.

One of the most anticipated moments of the meeting will be the roundtable on the implications of living kidney donation, featuring transplanted patients and kidney donors, offering a personal and human perspective on living donor transplantation.

The meeting will conclude at 4:30 PM with a closing ceremony.

Registration is free and open to members, patients, families, and anyone interested. Prior registration is required by sending the participants’ names to airg@airg-e.org.
